What is the X factor? What makes an individual just that, individual-unique? Is it a matter of work and preparation or just pure innate talent? The argument I present is that this factor lies in forging authenticity and working hard for that which satisfies.

Freely chasing after your own personal convictions can be very difficult in the world of today. However, we can only endure this opportunity and work to make the best of this one chance of life. We will all be gone before we know it, leaving the "X factor" that characterizes us, the footprint of our legacy, is something worth working toward.

Embrace it

We are born with the potential to create purpose. I say this because, sadly, it is clearly evident that- in par with the growth of our infrastructures, we have worked hard to adjust to the pace of this growth and in a way become a necessary component of this encasing society. Independence is something of a leverage nowadays- we work and do things that may not necessarily satisfy us, but we do it because we need a means to live and keep some independence to ourselves during the afternoons and the weekends (generally).

Purpose is a luxury, to reach a point of true satisfaction in life (in all different regards) is not a realistic goal. Purpose has to be chased after with great courage and perseverance. I say this referring to the pure concept of the purpose of life. This "purpose of life" is often the result of your personal development and efforts, and the application of your own personal passions.

Often our passions do not align with the demands that this world imposes. However, there are those who choose to chase their passion regardless of the potentially low monetary outcome. I find that this way is the most authentic and personally beneficial and enriching. The action of carrying out your passion without expectation is a pure action, you may have a lot of fears but you have decided to confront this task despite of the fear factor, you are not expecting to be rewarded, you are doing it purely because it fills you up, it satisfies you. Through this journey you are bound to learn to use fear and anxiety as a push, as a motivation to move forward.

Polish it

It's the only way to stand out. Polishing your passion is a necessary action. This process is a collaboration of philosophies, of thoughts, of ideas, of support. Accepting that we need help, and that we don't know it all and that we don't have to do it all alone is the key to the biggest floodgate of peace and freedom. Your presentation, your example, your life itself is your promotion and gravitational pull. You will pull that which you exude. This is not to say that you must surround yourself with people that are like you. Often the greatest growths we experience as human beings is through people and situations that are the opposite of ours- they may hold different views, different beliefs, different philosophies, etc. The beauty within this concept is that we can expand our mental margins, our philosophical horizons with individuals that are not only well prepared, but also, completely different from us.

Risk it

Without risk there is no reward.

Trust

Trust, confidence, courage- these don't happen automatically, they take mental effort, discipline and steadfastness. The key in this is to have the hard work done or at least in progress. Too often we drill ourselves to the ground in hard work and seldom do we recognize our own efforts, and our own work; don't be afraid to stand on your work, you are one step ahead of the one who is sitting at home with a broken spirit, and without vision. Stand on your work and in throughout all that, not only will you build your trust, but you will inspire the ones around you.
